Reinventing the Cover Letter

Over the summer, when looking through Yahoo Finance, I found this article. As I have begun my semester in Career Mentorship 2, I cannot help but think of this article every time my teacher talks about reinventing the application process.
This applicant sure knew how to reinvent. Everyone is always tempted to do things like this, to be brutally honest on applications and when meeting new people. Isn't that how it should be? Unfortunately, the system does not work that way. He beat the system, though. He took a chance and look at how Wall Street responded! The responses given were from high-up executives, people that I could only dream of working for. Not only were they impressed by his cover letter, they shared it with their friends! People were talking about him so much that some were moved to action!
As my instructors continue to encourage us to be different and do something that make us stand out from the other applicants as we are sending in various applications, I will definitely be keeping this article in mind. Albeit I do not have quite the guts or desire to be as daring as this brave soul, I will take into account the principle that he has proven. The application process has become so generic, it is necessary to do something to make yourself stand out. My first step? This website.
