Serving is Caring

I was able to sit down today with the founder of a logistics company, and for two hours we discussed life. I certainly was not expecting that, but it was a much needed and wonderful conversation. I took too many notes to write about everything that I have learned in one post, so over the next few weeks I intend to think about the information and post about it in small increments.
What I want to talk about today is this: always serve others. When I say this, I do not just mean by charity work. I mean, when someone at work asks you a question, help them. Ask people how they are doing. Talk to them on a daily basis. Make an effort to help make everyone else’s job easier. Such compassion is infectious, and you will soon see the entire environment of your work place improve. Plus, as you help them, you are learning even more information. Now, not only do you know how to do your job, you can understand theirs as well! One day, that knowledge will come into use. Overall, act in a way that you are trying to help the people around you, without selfish motivations. How can your department help the departments around you?
