Taylor Cooks Tuesdays

Last semester I took a course called Foods for Healthy Living. I have always felt it important to be healthy and to treat our bodies well, so I figured I would enjoy learning about how to do this. As I was taking this class, I realized that I would really love to learn how to be a good cook.

As I mentioned in my last blog post, I decided that I was going to teach myself how to cook this summer. Every tuesday night I cook dinner for my family. I find the recipe beforehand, buy the groceries myself and prepare the meal on tuesday. I must say, I am really enjoying this tradition.

After we eat the meal of the evening, I ask my family for feedback. I then write this feedback on the notecard for next time, in hopes of making the recipe better in the future.

In a way, that is what we are doing in life. We try different things, behave different ways, and observe what the results are. If the results are good, we make a note to repeat what we did. If the results are bad, we remember not to do that again.

It is interesting, how the most menial tasks can teach us about life. I encourage you to find one small task this week and think about how it can be applied to living life.
